Types of Stainless Steel Beams
Stainless steel beams are categorized based on their cross-sectional shape, with the I-beam serving as the universal reference model.
I Beam
The most common beam in our inventory. I-beams feature a center web that can only be rolled to the capacity of the mill's equipment (typically 5/8″). I-beams are lighter in weight, making them suitable for numerous applications. Manufactured as a single solid piece of metal through rolling processes.
H Beam
H-beams offer superior strength compared to I-beams. Instead of being rolled as one piece, H-beams consist of three individually created sections welded together. This manufacturing process allows each portion to be reinforced separately, resulting in a heavier beam capable of withstanding greater force and pressure.
