Product Description
ASME SA 335 Grade P91 Pipes - ASTM A335 P91 Alloy Seamless Steel Pipe
X10CrMoVNb9-1 Alloy Steel Seamless Pipes for High-temperature Service T91/P91 (X10CrMoVNb9-1)
Product Definition
Grade T/P91 is a ferritic-martensitic (9% chromium, 1% molybdenum) steel micro-alloyed with vanadium and niobium, with controlled nitrogen content according to ASTM A335, A213, or EN 10216-2 standard under designation X10CrMoVNb9-1.
Primary Applications
On fossil-fueled power plants, this grade is primarily used for high-temperature applications in superheater and reheater tubes, headers, and steam piping (main steam and hot reheat).
Performance Advantages
- Excellent elevated-temperature strength and creep behavior up to 580°C - 600°C
- 9% chromium content provides superior corrosion and oxidation resistance compared to grade 22
- Reduced weight of boiler and piping components enables higher resistance to thermal fatigue
- Higher heat transfer and lower thermal expansion coefficients compared to austenitic steels
Available Specifications
Materials available in industry standard designations: STD, 40, XH, 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160, XXH
Special customer designated nominal and minimum wall thicknesses can be furnished. Non-standard OD & ID are available.
Alternative Manufacturing Options
Best Pipeline offers pipe from turned and bored forgings in accordance with Specifications A/SA369 when client requirements for size, wall thickness, quantity, or delivery cannot be met by material available under Specifications A/SA335.
A/SA369 material is manufactured in grades including FP11, FP22, FP5, FP9, FP91, and FP92 corresponding to the same grades listed for A/SA335.
