Stainless steel beams are categorized based on their cross-sectional shape, with the I-beam serving as the universal reference model.
I Beam
The most common beam type featuring a solid, single-piece construction rolled from one part. Lighter in weight with a center web capacity limited by milling equipment (typically 5/8″). Ideal for applications where weight efficiency is prioritized.
H Beam
Superior strength compared to I-beams, manufactured as three individually created pieces welded together. This triple-milling process creates a heavier, more robust structure capable of withstanding greater force and pressure in demanding structural applications.
