Superior Strength and Toughness
1.4418 stainless steel offers remarkable tensile strength and excellent toughness through its unique martensite-austenite microstructure. Capable of withstanding high-stress applications without deformation, it achieves yield strength up to 620 MPa in quenched and tempered condition.
Exceptional Corrosion Resistance
The alloy's composition (15-17% chromium, 4.0-6.0% nickel, 1.0-2.0% molybdenum) forms a dense passive oxide film that protects against general corrosion, pitting, and crevice corrosion in harsh environments including seawater, chloride solutions, and acidic media.
Excellent Weldability and Formability
Highly weldable using common techniques like TIG and MIG welding without significant property loss. Exhibits good formability for shaping into complex geometries through cold rolling, forging, and bending processes.
