32652 UNS 654SMO Super Austenitic Stainless Steel 1.4652 X1CrNiMoCuN24-22-8 is a premium super austenitic stainless steel containing 23% nickel, 25% chromium, and 7% molybdenum, offering superior corrosion resistance compared to standard austenitic steels.
Material Description
654SMO (S32654, 1.4652) super austenitic stainless steel features exceptional local corrosion resistance with excellent pitting and stress corrosion resistance under seawater, aeration, gaps, and low-speed erosion conditions. This material serves as a cost-effective alternative to nickel-based alloys and titanium alloys, outperforming 904L and 254SMO in high temperature and corrosion resistance applications.
The manufacturing process involves center perforation of round steel followed by piercing, with cold rolling or cold drawing to ensure high success rates despite the material's hardness and tendency for eccentricity or cracking during processing.
