Material Characteristics
Type 301 stainless steel is an austenitic grade that achieves high strength and ductility through cold working. It is non-magnetic in the annealed state and becomes slightly magnetic with cold working. This modification of Type 304 features lower Chromium and Nickel content, providing enhanced cold work-hardening capabilities with higher tensile strengths and better ductility retention.
