About Type 301 Stainless Steel
Type 301 stainless steel is an austenitic alloy that achieves high strength and ductility through cold working. Similar to type 201 steel, 301 is non-magnetic in the annealed state but becomes increasingly magnetic with cold working.
This modification of type 304 stainless steel features lowered Chromium and Nickel content, which increases the cold work-hardening range. This allows for higher tensile strengths through rolling while maintaining better ductility compared to Type 304.
