Types of Stainless Steel Beams

Stainless steel beams are categorized by their distinctive cross-sectional shapes, with the I-beam serving as the universal reference point.

I Beam - The most common beam type featuring a center web rolled to mill equipment capacity (approximately 5/8″). Lighter in weight and manufactured as a single solid piece through rolling processes, making it ideal for general applications.
H Beam - Superior strength compared to I-beams, constructed from three individually created pieces welded together. This manufacturing process allows for reinforced material strength through multiple milling operations. H-beams are heavier and capable of withstanding greater force and pressure than I-beams.
