Manufacturing Processes
Forging
Hot forming temperature: 1150-850°C
Machinability
Machining is performed prior to carburizing to achieve close tolerances. Post-heat treatment machining is minimized to preserve the hardened case, typically limited to grinding operations.
Welding
Suitable for conventional gas or arc welding methods. Preheating at 200°C is recommended, followed by post-weld heat treatment according to approved procedures.
Cold Working
Cold working is performed in the annealed condition using conventional methods, completed to close tolerances before heat treatment or carburizing.
