TP 310 / 310S Stainless Steel Sheet Metal ASTM A240 Overview
310, 310S, and 310H stainless steel are austenitic grades specifically designed for high-temperature applications up to 2,100°F in continuous service. With 25% chromium and 20% nickel content, these grades offer exceptional resistance to oxidation and corrosion.

310S stainless steel features lower carbon content compared to standard 310 plate, reducing susceptibility to embrittlement and sensitization during service. 310H stainless steel plate represents the high-carbon variant. These grades perform well in moderately carburizing atmospheres typical of petrochemical environments but are not recommended for frequent liquid quenching due to thermal shock vulnerability. Their toughness and low magnetic permeability also make them suitable for cryogenic applications.
