Material Description
Incoloy 926 is an austenitic molybdenum stainless steel that displays superior corrosion resistance to numerous aggressive media. The combination of molybdenum and nitrogen inhibits pitting and crevice corrosion, while copper boosts sulfuric acid tolerance and nitrogen increases yield and tensile strengths.
Incoloy 926 (UNS N08926/W.Nr. 1.4529) is an austenitic stainless steel alloy with a similar chemical composition to 904L alloy. Its nitrogen content is 0.2% and molybdenum content is 6.5%. The molybdenum and nitrogen content significantly increases resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in halide media. Meanwhile, nickel and nitrogen ensure metallurgical stability and reduce intergranular separation trends in thermal processes or welding processes better than nickel alloys with lower nitrogen content.
