Manufacturing Process
Production typically involves vacuum induction melting (VIM) followed by vacuum arc remelting (VAR) for high purity. Seamless pipes undergo hot extrusion followed by cold rolling or drawing with intermediate solution annealing.
Heat Treatment
Solution annealing at 1120-1170°C (2048-2138°F) with rapid quenching dissolves secondary phases and restores optimum corrosion resistance. Stress relief annealing at 870-980°C (1600-1796°F) minimizes residual stresses.
