Product Description
SS 316L Plate Hot Rolled Stainless Steel Plate 316
SS 316L PLATE ASTM A240 316L Stainless Steel Plate NO.1 Finished 2000mm Width.
In ASTM A240, type 316 and 316L is a chromium nickel austenitic steel.
Molybdenum addition enhances corrosion resistance, making 316/316L more corrosion resistant than 304/304L.
316L steel with low carbon content has slightly higher strength than 316 steel, making both grades nearly equivalent in many applications.
Grade 316L is particularly suitable for welding due to its lower carbon content.
316/316L steel offers outstanding corrosion resistance in atmospheric and oxidizing environments,
including marine atmospheres, and maintains excellent corrosion resistance in welded conditions.
Typically non-magnetic in annealed condition, cold drawing or cold rolling may introduce slight magnetism,
which can be corrected with further processing.
Applications of ASTM A240 316/316L
316/316L plate is used to manufacture products for applications exposed to salt water, acids (such as sulfuric acid and chloride),
petrochemicals, chemicals, and high-heat environments like engines and motors.
- Tanks
- Supports and frames
- Enclosures and housings
- Engine, motor and machinery components and parts
