1. Introduction

SA387 Gr12 Cl2 is a low-alloy chromium-molybdenum steel plate standardized under ASTM/ASME SA387, designed for welded pressure vessels operating at elevated temperatures (up to 538°C / 1000°F). Supplied in Normalized and Tempered (N+T) condition (Class 2), it delivers superior creep strength, hydrogen resistance, and weldability for critical petrochemical, power, and oil/gas applications.
