About 904L Stainless Steel

Grade 904L stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high alloy stainless steel contains added copper to improve resistance to strong reducing acids like sulphuric acid. The material offers excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion, and is non-magnetic with superior formability, toughness, and weldability.

While 904L contains high amounts of expensive ingredients like molybdenum and nickel, many applications now use cost-effective duplex stainless steel 2205 as an alternative. Grade 904L provides excellent resistance to warm seawater and chloride attack, with its high nickel content contributing to exceptional stress corrosion cracking resistance.

We specialize in the production and distribution of superalloys, nickel base alloys, corrosion resistant alloys, precision alloys, cobalt-based alloys, special alloy steels, and specialized super austenitic stainless steels including duplex stainless steel. Our product range includes round steel, forgings, steel pipes, steel plates, precision steel belts, flanges, pipe fittings, and fasteners.

All materials are manufactured and tested in strict compliance with ASTM/ASME, GB, JIS, and other international standards. We maintain extensive inventories of nickel base alloys, high temperature alloys, and imported high temperature alloy steel plates in various specifications. We also supply imported welding wires and rods to support timely delivery for desulfurization and denitration engineering projects, as well as petroleum and petrochemical equipment requirements.

Our manufacturing facilities include vacuum induction furnaces, semi-vacuum medium frequency induction furnaces, middle and high temperature heat treatment furnaces, electroslag remelting furnaces, free forging hammers (6 tons, 4 tons, 1 tons), hot rolling cold rolling steel pipe equipment, precision steel strip cold rolling machines, annealing furnaces, and round bar hot rolling cold drawing machines.
