17CrNiMo6/1.6587 Steel is a heat-treatable, low alloy steel containing nickel, chromium, and molybdenum according to DIN Germany standard. Known for its exceptional toughness and capability to develop high strength in heat-treated conditions while maintaining excellent fatigue strength. Widely used in heavy-duty applications including shafts, gears, axles, spindles, couplings, and pins.

• Nominal normalizing temperature: 840-890°C
• Hold the temperature for several hours
• Cooling in the air

• Nominal annealing temperature: 630-650°C
• Cool slowly in the furnace
• Maximum Brinell hardness of 229

• Nominal hardening temperature: 830-865°C
• Hold at this temperature then quench in oil
• Temper as soon as possible when temperature drops to ambient
• Heat carefully to suitable temperature selected from tempering chart
• Usual tempering temperature: 600°C (depending on requirements)
• Remove material from furnace, then cool in air

• Tensile strength: 980-1270MPa
• Yield point: 780MPa
• Percentage reduction of area after fracture: 40%
• Elongation after fracture: 11%
• Impact test (+20°C): Longitud - 45~50J

• Shape: Round/Square/Flat/Shafts/Rollers/Blocks
