About 316Ti Stainless Steel
Grade 316Ti is an austenitic stainless steel containing molybdenum for enhanced corrosion resistance, particularly against pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. The titanium addition (approximately 0.5%) stabilizes the structure at temperatures over 800°C, preventing carbide precipitation and protecting against corrosion while maintaining physical and mechanical properties similar to standard 316 grades.

316Ti is particularly valued in European specifications for applications requiring both elevated temperature service and corrosion resistance. The titanium stabilization allows the material to be held at higher temperatures for longer periods without sensitization. While 316Ti maintains similar mechanical properties to 316/316L, it offers specific advantages in high-temperature applications above 1000°F where stabilized grades are required.
