Hastelloy C-276 Corrosion Resistance
C276 alloy is suitable for various chemical process industries containing oxidizing and reducing media. The high molybdenum and chromium content provides excellent resistance to chloride corrosion, while tungsten enhances overall corrosion resistance. C276 is one of the few materials that can resist corrosion from chlorine, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide, with outstanding performance against high concentrations of chlorides such as iron chloride and copper chloride.
Hastelloy C-276 Application Fields
C276 is widely used in chemical and petrochemical fields, particularly in chloride organic and catalytic systems. This material is especially suitable for high-temperature environments, impure inorganic and organic acids (such as formic acid and acetic acid), and seawater corrosion environments.
