Wear Resistant Steel Plate Applications
- AR235: Moderate wear applications with improved wear resistance relative to structural carbon steel
- AR400: Premium abrasion resistant steel plates that are heat-treated and exhibit through-hardening with improved forming and welding capabilities
- AR450: Abrasion resistant plate used where slightly greater strength is desired beyond AR400
- AR500: Suitable for mining, forestry and construction applications
- AR600: Utilized in high-wear areas such as aggregate removal, mining, and the manufacture of buckets and wear bodies
AR400 Steel Plate Properties
AR400 is a through-hardened, abrasion resistant alloy wear plate with a hardness range of 360-440 BHN and nominal hardness of 400 BHN. Service temperature is 400°F. This plate product offers an excellent balance of formability, weldability, toughness and abrasion resistance for applications in mining, quarries, bulk material handling, steel mills, and pulp & paper industries.
AR500 Steel Plate Properties
AR500 is a through-hardened, abrasion resistant alloy wear plate with a hardness range of 470-540 BHN and nominal hardness of 500 BHN. This plate product provides optimal balance of impact resistance, toughness and abrasion resistance for demanding applications in mining, quarries, bulk material handling, steel mills, and pulp & paper industries.
