Performance Characteristics
Corrosion Resistance
- Excellent corrosion resistance properties
- High chromium content provides good aqueous corrosion resistance
- Excellent resistance at normal temperatures with good performance in oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres
Heat Resistance
- Good oxidation resistance in intermittent service up to 1040°C and continuous service up to 1150°C
- Excellent resistance to thermal fatigue and cyclic heating
- Widely used in environments with sulphur dioxide gas at elevated temperatures
- Effective at temperatures from 800-900°C, above the range for 304H and 321 stainless steels
- Continuous use in 425-860°C range not recommended if subsequent aqueous corrosion resistance is required
