Corrosion Resistance
- Provides excellent corrosion resistance
- High chromium content ensures good aqueous corrosion resistance
- Excellent resistance at normal temperatures with good performance in oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres
Heat Resistance
- Good oxidation resistance in intermittent service up to 1040°C and continuous service up to 1150°C
- Excellent resistance to thermal fatigue and cyclic heating
- Widely used in applications involving sulphur dioxide gas at elevated temperatures
- Generally effective at temperatures starting from 800-900°C, above the capabilities of 304H and 321 grades
- Continuous use in 425-860°C range not recommended due to carbide precipitation when aqueous corrosion resistance is required
