Hastelloy C-22 Alloy Characteristics
HASTELLOY Alloy C-22 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy offering enhanced resistance to:
  • Pitting corrosion
  • Crevice corrosion
  • Stress corrosion cracking
The alloy resists grain boundary precipitate formation in weld-heat affected zones, making it suitable for as-welded applications. C-22 provides outstanding resistance to both reducing and oxidizing media and performs reliably under "upset" conditions. It demonstrates excellent weldability and high corrosion resistance as consumable filler wires and electrodes.
Forming Properties
C-22 can be easily cold-worked due to its ductility, with cold-forming being the preferred method. The alloy requires more energy for forming as it is generally stiffer than austenitic stainless steels.
