Hastelloy C-22 Alloy Characteristics
HASTELLOY Alloy C-22 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with enhanced resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. It resists the formation of grain boundary precipitates in the weld-heat affected zone, making it suitable for use in the as-welded condition.
C-22 demonstrates outstanding resistance to both reducing and oxidizing media and can be used where "upset" conditions are likely to occur. It possesses excellent weldability and high corrosion resistance as consumable filler wires and electrodes. The alloy has proven effective as a filler wire in applications where other corrosion-resistant wires have failed.
C-22 can easily be cold-worked due to its ductility, with cold-forming being the preferred method of forming. More energy is required as the alloy is generally stiffer than austenitic stainless steels.

Alloy Characteristics
Hastelloy B-3 Same excellent resistance to hydrochloric acid and other strongly reducing chemicals as B-2 alloy, but with significantly better thermal stability, fabricability and stress corrosion cracking resistance.
Hastelloy HYBRID-BC1 Superior resistance to hydrochloric and sulfuric acids without the drawbacks of Ni-Mo and Zr materials. Outstanding resistance to pitting and crevice attack in chloride salt solutions.
Hastelloy C-4 High-temperature stability in the 1200-1900°F range with good ductility and corrosion resistance. Virtually the same corrosion resistance as alloy C-276.
Hastelloy C-22 Better overall corrosion resistance in oxidizing corrosives than C-4, C-276 and 625 alloys. Outstanding resistance to localized corrosion and excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
Hastelloy C-22HS Corrosion resistance comparable to other C-type alloys, but can be heat treated to obtain approximately double the yield strength.
Hastelloy C-276 Versatile, corrosion resistant alloy with very good resistance to reducing and mildly oxidizing corrosives. Excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance.
Hastelloy C-2000 Most versatile corrosion resistant alloy with excellent resistance to uniform corrosion in oxidizing or reducing environments. Superior resistance to localized corrosion compared to C-276 alloy.
Hastelloy G-30 Many advantages in handling phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, fluoride environments and oxidizing acid mixtures.
Hastelloy G-35 Excellent resistance to corrosion in highly oxidizing media and acidic chloride environments.
Hastelloy N Good resistance to aging and embrittlement with excellent resistance to hot fluoride salts in the 1300°F to 1600°F range.
