Product Description
Prime Quality UNS S31254 Seamless Stainless Steel Pipes
Also known as 254 SMO, 1.4547, and 254SMO, this austenitic stainless steel is specifically developed for use in halide-containing environments such as seawater. The superiority of this steel manifests itself particularly in halide-containing acids, while also featuring excellent resistance to uniform corrosion.
Material Characteristics
254SMo is classified as a super austenitic stainless steel with carbon content below 0.02%. This high-alloy stainless steel contains elevated levels of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum (6% Mo), providing exceptional performance in demanding applications.
Key Features
- Excellent local corrosion resistance due to high molybdenum content
- Superior pitting corrosion resistance (PI ≥ 40) in harsh conditions
- Outstanding resistance to stress corrosion cracking
- Enhanced mechanical strength from high nitrogen content
- High ductility, impact strength, and good weldability
- Cost-effective alternative to nickel-based alloys and titanium
