Product Features
Grade 904L stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high alloy stainless steel contains copper to enhance resistance to strong reducing acids such as sulphuric acid. The material offers excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. Grade 904L is non-magnetic and provides superior formability, toughness, and weldability characteristics.

Fabrication & Processing
Grade 904L stainless steels are high purity materials with low sulphur content. They can be machined using standard methods and readily bent to small radii under cold conditions. While subsequent annealing is typically not required, it should be performed when fabrication occurs under severe stress corrosion cracking conditions.
