316 vs 316L Stainless Steel Comparison
Both 316 and 316L stainless steels are molybdenum-containing alloys that provide enhanced performance compared to 310 and 304 stainless steels. The molybdenum content gives these steels excellent chloride resistance, making them ideal for marine environments.
316L Advantages: Maximum carbon content of 0.03% allows for use in applications that cannot be annealed after welding and require maximum corrosion resistance.
