Product Description
ASME B&PV Code Section H Part A SA 480/SA480M 304L Stainless Steel Plate
SA240/SA240M Type 304L Stainless Steel Plate Hot Finished in Solution Annealed Pickled and Passivated NO.1 Finished
Surface Treatment and Characteristics
Surface Finish Characteristics and Application
NO.2B The surface brightness and flatness of NO.2B is better than NO.2D. Through special surface treatment to improve mechanical properties, NO.2B could nearly satisfy comprehensive uses.
NO.1 The surface is finished by heat treatment and pickling or corresponding processes after hot rolling.
NO.4 Polished with abrasive belt of grit #150-#180, have better brightness with discontinuous coarse striations, but thinner than NO.3. Used for bathtubs, building interiors and exteriors, electrical appliances, kitchen utensils, and food processing equipment.
HL Polished with abrasive belt of grit #150-#320 on the NO.4 finish with continuous streaks. Mainly used for building ornaments, elevators, building doors, and frontal plates.
BA Cold rolled, bright annealed and skin-passed. Excellent brightness and good reflectivity like a mirror. Used for kitchen apparatus and ornaments.
8K Excellent brightness and preferred reflectivity that can serve as a mirror.

Corrosion Resistance
Stainless steel's resistance to corrosion and staining, low maintenance requirements, and familiar luster make it an ideal material for many applications. The alloy is used in cookware, cutlery, household hardware, surgical instruments, major appliances, industrial equipment, and as an automotive and construction material in large buildings. It is also suitable for commercial kitchens and food processing plants, as it can be steam-cleaned and sterilized without requiring paint or other surface finishes.
Applications
  • Food preparation equipment, especially in chloride environments
  • Chemical processing equipment
  • Laboratory benches and equipment
  • Rubber, plastics, pulp & paper machinery
  • Pollution control equipment
  • Boat fittings, valves and pump trim
