About 443 Stainless Steel
443 Stainless Steel is a ferritic alloy containing Chromium and Titanium with extremely low Carbon content. This composition provides strong corrosion resistance, particularly against moisture and salt. With high Chromium levels, 443 stainless offers corrosion resistance comparable to 304 grade while exhibiting lower thermal expansion, reducing stress and warping. Despite being magnetic due to its high Chromium content, 443 maintains excellent corrosion resistance properties.
As a newer ferritic stainless steel, 443 provides excellent rust resistance and good formability through reduced Carbon content and increased Chromium with Titanium addition. It offers properties similar to 304 grade stainless steel at a lower cost advantage, making it suitable for replacing 304 in many applications.
