Stainless Steel 316 Pipe is an austenitic stainless steel grade pipe that has good resistance to chloride ion corrosion stress cracking. For this reason, the pipe is used in marine and sea water applications with ease. The wall thickness of the pipes ranges from 0.5mm to 6.35mm and the length vary according to the custom needs. There are welded, seamless and electric fusion welded pipe types. The SS 316 Pipe, 316 Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe ranges in outer diameter from ½ inches to 16 inches and the welded pipes range up to 24 inches and the electric fusion welded pipes range up to 100 inches.
The Stainless Steel 316 Stainless Steel Pipe is welded from strips of the same grade and they have equal strength as the 304 types but with added corrosion resistance due to the 4% molybdenum content in the composition. The ASTM A312 TP316 Stainless Steel Pipe belongs to the A312 specification for the tubular products and it can be used for high temperature and high pressure applications.
