製品の説明
A312 S31254, 254SMo Seamless Stainless Steel Pipe
254SMo is an austenitic stainless steel specifically developed for use in halide-containing environments such as seawater. This steel demonstrates superior performance particularly in halide-containing acids and offers excellent resistance to uniform corrosion. With carbon content below 0.02%, it is classified as pure austenitic stainless steel, and when carbon content is less than 0.01%, it qualifies as super austenitic stainless steel.
Features of Inox 254SMo
Super stainless steel represents a specialized category of stainless steel distinguished from ordinary grades by its high alloy content of nickel, chromium, and molybdenum. The most prominent example is 254SMo with 6% molybdenum content, which provides exceptional local corrosion resistance. This material exhibits superior resistance to pitting corrosion (PI ≥ 40) and stress corrosion cracking in demanding conditions including seawater, aeration, crevice environments, and low-speed scouring applications, making it an excellent alternative to nickel-based alloys and titanium alloys.
254SMo demonstrates outstanding high-temperature resistance and corrosion performance that surpasses conventional 304 stainless steel. Metallurgically, this special stainless steel maintains a stable austenitic structure.
Extensive field testing and practical experience confirm that 254SMo maintains high crevice corrosion resistance in seawater, even at elevated temperatures—a characteristic shared by only a few stainless steel types. In acidic solutions and oxidizing halide environments typical of paper bleaching applications, 254SMo exhibits corrosion resistance comparable to the most advanced nickel-based alloys and titanium alloys.
The high nitrogen content in 254SMo provides enhanced mechanical strength compared to other austenitic stainless steels, while maintaining excellent ductility, impact strength, and weldability. The elevated molybdenum content results in higher oxidation rates during annealing, producing a slightly rougher surface after pickling than conventional stainless steels, though this does not compromise the material's corrosion resistance.
