About 310H Stainless Steel

General Properties

Alloy 310H (UNS S31009) features a controlled carbon content optimized for high-temperature applications. This steel offers excellent oxidation resistance up to 1040°C (1904°F) in intermittent service and 1150°C (2102°F) in continuous service. It performs well in environments with sulfur dioxide gas at high temperatures, though continuous use in the 425-860°C (797-1580°F) range is not recommended due to carbide precipitation.

Applications

Grade 310H stainless steel is primarily used in the heat treatment and chemical process industries for components including:

Fans and burners
Trays and baskets
Rollers and conveyor belts
Oven and retort linings
Tube hangers and refractory supports
Containers for hot concentrated acids, ammonia, and sulfur dioxide
Food processing equipment for hot acetic and citric acids
