Heat Treatment Processes
Hardening & Tempering
- Heat uniformly to 850°C
- Quench in oil
- Reheat to 550°C and soak for minimum 2 hours
- Cool in furnace
Annealing
- Heat thoroughly to 800-850°C
- Cool slowly to 550°C
- Complete annealing in air
Normalizing
- Heat to 850°C
- Cool to room temperature in air
Quality Certification
- Chemical composition per DIN 7527-6, EN 10250-3
- Complete mechanical properties testing
- Non-metallic inclusions analysis
- Grain size: Minimum 5, preferred 8 (DIN 50601)
